Manuka Primary School is a decile 6 school with a proven history of effective teaching and learning. The ERO reports we have received over the last years are evidence of our commitment to the education of our students.
We are a multi-cultural school (currently home to 27 different nationalities) in the suburb of Glenfield on the North Shore, who pride ourselves on the use of the Manuka Attributes and Values to promote an all-inclusive and positive environment for our children.
We are set in spacious grounds that include a new fitness trail, two playgrounds, a maze and a forest (still growing) for our children to enjoy both before, during and after school. We enjoy being a school that is aware of the needs of 21st Century Life Long Leaners as well as the need to be environmentally aware and action based.
Student voice is promoted at Manuka. We like to know what our children think, feel and understand about their education. They are encouraged to discuss their learning both in school and out. One great way we promote their participation in their own education is through our 3-Way Interviews which follow our reports twice a year.
We encourage our students to become active participants in whole school life. Ways in which we encourage this participation and contribution are through a wide variety of cultural and sporting opportunities including:
ü Kapa haka
ü Basket Ball
ü Student Leaders
ü EFS Team
ü Health and Wellbeing Team
ü Book Club
ü Monitors for such duties as library and wet play
The list goes on and grows each year.
We welcome our parents, whānau and families to participate in school life as well. We have a wonderful Parent Support Group who welcome new members and we have parents to donate their time to come and help the teachers with Reading Mileage and with the sourcing of resources.
Please feel free to come and meet the Principal and staff and have a welcoming visit to our lovely school. The two Deputy Principals are always willing to make the time to show you around the Junior and Senior Learning Communities and answer any questions you may have.
Enrolment packs are available from Marilyn at the school office and by following the ‘School Information’ Link on the left.
