Room 15
Thank you Room 15 for a fantastic Term 1!
We have an exciting new term ahead so I would like to firstly take this opportunity to welcome: Anahera, Amelia, Liam, Luigi, Lucas and Griffin to our team.
Room 15 will now consist of 19 delightful children (7 boys and 12 girls).
What we are doing this term:
This term our inquiry is based around science. We will be learning through taking part in some really exciting
experiments including:
- Melting chalk
- Making plastic milk
- Oobleck
- Soaking eggs
- The exploding lunch bag
Maths: this term we are learning about addition, subtraction and geometry.
Reading: we are learning about the strategies that good readers use. Parents and family members can help us at home by reading stories to us, reading stories with us and talking to us about our stories.
Writing: we are looking at everyday writing skills and punctuation. Our learning can be extended by pointing out good examples of punctuation and interesting words when we read.
Events we are looking forward to:
- The Aunties show with Madame Salami the magician
- Rippa Rugby festival in week 5
- Art Auction
- Science Fair
- Matariki Night
