Every year we celebrate a wonderful year with our students and say goodbye to our year sixes as they head off to their new schools for the next stage of their learning journeys.
At our assembly, the year sixes are welcomed in by a whole school Haka Pōwhiri and then our Kapa Haka performs. Throughout the event several waiata are shared.
There are awards for effort, achievement and school values from each class, two citizenship medals for each year group, two sports awards, an arts trophy and a cultural trophy. Year six students are presented with their certificates, Mānuka Bears and a graduation photograph.

Year six Citizenship awards
Every year, two year six students are selected to receive a Year 6 Citizenship Award. These awards celebrate students who consistently display our Manuka School Values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility. These students also contribute to our wider school community by taking on roles of responsibility such as being wet day monitors in the junior school, office duty monitors, road patrollers and members of sporting, cultural and creative groups.
