The Mānuka learner profile

Our Mānuka Learner Profile is based around our school values – Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Our values are embedded in everything we do and are integrated in all learning areas.

This poster informs teaching and learning at Mānuka School, outlining what our students need to know, understand, and do. We believe that the six core capabilities—being unique, reflective, a learner, a communicator, a risk-taker, and one's own leader—are critically important for success in life.

By the end of Year 3, we aim for our students to begin establishing these six core capabilities, developing an understanding of how to apply them. By the end of Year 6, we hope our students have deeply embedded each of the six core capabilities, allowing them to apply these skills in various contexts with increasing confidence.

Each term, we focus on two core values. We unpack these with the students and teach skills that they can use to embody these capabilities at their level. We also share the focus capabilities with parents, suggesting strategies they can use at home to support their child's learning

Our values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility are the foundation of our learning community.

We have high caliber literacy and numeracy programmes and a focus on students enquiring into their own passions and interests through our Inquiry learning process. With the latest technology on site for students to access and the many exciting opportunities and experiences they have here at Mānuka, they leave as well rounded individuals.
